The very first business, started by Steeve Marcoux, was SM First Aid, in 1995. It’s professional way of doing things quickly made the company a leader in the field. Because of it’s remarkable growth, SM Secourisme (first aid), in 1996, received the prize “Excellent Young Enterprise” from the Desjardins Foundation, surpassing 193 competitors. Because of it’s growth, the company adapted itself to customer’s demands and a subsidiary was created, SM Products, which specializes in first aid products and kits. In only six months the success of this new business surpassed everyone’s expectations. The company’s first goals were achieved in a very short period of time, confirming the need for these products in the marketplace. “We felt at that moment, an affirmation from the business community for specialized and affordable products” said Steeve Marcoux, chairman of SM Canada. After many consultations, we decided to focus our business towards these new demands: first aid products conforming to provincial regulations, affordable, guaranteed and including excellent customer service. Serving customers in French en English, we felt a new name was required to match our new image. SM Canada was created. |
